It's an okay start, but the browser based functionality is where we need to be. As it stands, you can't even set a conversation to closed from a browser. Piping everything thorough a phone app means you're forcing a company to use someone's personal device to monitor messages, rather than having a team take care of it.

UPDATED REVIEW: Moved to 1 star. No progress has been made with this app. It doesn't load half of the time. There is no way to deleted/complete messages or categorize them still after 6 months and a newly updated name. Still no way to switch between stores. If you have multiple stores, you have to log out and log back in. There is no easy way around this. Original Review: 2 Stars We have 2 stores, we are unable to manage both within shopifyping.com There isn't a way to have a set schedule when our customer service staff shows up to work every day. The message management is clunky and you're unable to filter/archive old messages. When this app gets much needed improvements, my review may change.

I do not have an estimated release date, but this is something to look forward too! As for message management, we will be releasing the ability to filter/assign/archive messages on both android and web version of Ping by Spring 2021. If you use iOS, this app is great! If not, move on. I was excited to use this app because it integrates so well with the rest of Shopify, however many of the features are only available if you are using the iOS app (availability hours, saved replies, link to products and discounts, etc). Desktop and Android only give you access to the basic chat without the ability to edit any of the settings or more advanced chat options. Hopefully they update the desktop interface to include the ability to manage settings and full chat options, because everything else about it looked really promising and easy to use. Installation was very easy, the only issue is that the chat button is enabled automatically before you've customized any settings. It's easy to disable so just be aware to do that if you are not ready to start customer chats right away.

Easy to install and comfortably running with KIT Ping on my mobile. My country Austria is not included yet in the SMS service but I would prefer mobile chat so this is the better option anyway. +++ Einfach zu installieren und läuft komfortabel mit KIT Ping auf meinem Handy. Österreich ist nicht im SMS Service enthalten, aber ich bevorzuge eh den mobilen Chat also ist es so eh die bessere Option für mich.

Can't set opening hours and the notification does not work every times. better just when its closed let costumers write email right away or send on Messenger

This is trash. Magically dropped off the store. Tried to reinstall, doesn't work. chat link takes you to a page asking you to load the app. What a load of sh1t.

I would like to be able to disable where chat tells me a person is back online. If that is going to pop up everytime someone logs back in that will be annoying

The notification for when a person is back online was implemented so you don't miss any opportunities for chatting - we were hoping that would not be too disruptive. However, you should only receive a sound notification and red dot if the customer leaves a new message, and that new message will be at the top of the chain. the app is improving and adding more features. Would suggest making a desktop app, and have some preset robot reply like FAQ. At the moment, it justs show "What's my order status?" which is seldom needed from us.

My biggest problem with this app is that you cannot turn it off after hours. You will have customers messaging you at all hours of the night. Only a small percentage of chat customers convert. Due to the high volume of messages I have been receiving 24 hours a day, I decided to remove the chat from my website. However, when I removed the app properly, the Chat icon did not disappear from the front of my website. I contacted Shopify (because it is their app) and they tried to pawn me off on my Theme developers. Now I have customers trying to use a chat that does not work, resulting in ugly emails. Follow up 11/11/20: This Chat icon is still on my site. Shopify support keeps telling me they removed it, but the icon is still there (only it does not work). We have cleared our cache repeatedly from several different computers, and icon is present. This is the worst customer service.

It is now available at shopifyping.com as an option for responding to chats instead of your phone device. At this time there is not a feature that will notify you of customers who have not ordered in awhile or when there is an abandoned checkout. There is however an abandoned checkout feature built into Shopify, so definitely take advantage of that! For repeat customer insights, you can look into your analytics in Shopify, or download an app if you need something automated. The app is straightforward and easy to install, as well as customize. However, the usefulness is severely limited for non-iOS users, even with the new desktop Ping release. At minimum, the ability to set an availability schedule is a must. Will gladly re-evaluate once the feature set is improved.

It's a good start. It works immediately out of the box. I would like people to be able to enter their names. Pre-done text excerpts for when you're away, or hours available to chat would be great. Saved chats so you can view or respond on desktop would be good too.
