AVOID! Unsatisfactory experience. The quality of this app has significantly declined. Over the last four months, it has experienced downtime on four separate occasions, totaling approximately 24 hours. During these periods, access to collection pages is impossible, effectively halting any sales. Regrettably, there has been no communication from the service team in the form of updates or apologies during these downtimes. I would advise against relying on this app for your site, as its inconsistent performance and lack of support could lead to considerable financial losses. It's best to steer clear. Right after the issue was fixed, our developers started the investigation process to figure out what exactly went wrong and how we could avoid it in the future. See, in such situations, our system automatically switches to the default Shopify search and collections display to ensure your store remains operational. As we understand, you also experienced complete unavailability of search results and collections, just like some of our other clients. This is unexpected behavior and we are currently running the test to see why it happened. As for communication with support, we have checked your ticket and see that you have received an initial answer in 13 minutes. The chat functionality in your admin panel appears to be working and as far as we know, it wasn't turned off during the technical downtime. Lost out on a large amount of customers this weekend because the app disabled itself instead of telling me the free trial had ended. No notification about it. Other apps resort to the cheapest option, or they continue it until you've picked one etc. Really frustrating because it's a good app but considering you can't find any products without the search function, this has lost my trust in the app

The interface is just terrible and needs a lot of custom CSS work done to make it look OK. The way they have setup the customization means we end up with a lot of CSS code loading on each page. The style sheet structure is not done professionally. There is almost half a page of code loaded for each product in the search result. For example if you change the color for the price in the search result, it will add a style="color:black;" to EVERY product in the search result. No way to change the font size other than overwriting the CSS which has zero documentations available at the moment. This is just goes to show they have not done this correctly when it comes to user interface. Creating filters is also cumbersome and not intuitive compared with other apps. We couldn't find a way to enable the app only on a single theme for testing and setting up. It enables itself on all themes making it impossible to implement it on a live busy site.

As for CSS code being too heavy, we looked into this issue and couldn't detect it from our end: when we changed the color of prices first with our admin panel settings and then with custom CSS, it didn't end up adding the same code to every product. When it comes to filters, we are sorry to see the process wasn't easy! Again, your ideas would be highly valuable for us because you might notice some things that our eye doesn't catch. Update Sept 6: They have now offered to help me with video support when I initially asked several times and was always denied. It took a very negative review for them to offer a normal level of support. I will look for another app that is easier to setup. __________ I think their search and filters would work well if I could set them up correctly. I spent months of emailing back and forth with support over things that should have been easy and even some technical bugs that they don't seem to understand and cannot fix. I begged them to get on a video call to help me finish the setup, but they claimed they could not provide that kind of support. If that's the case, then they should make setup easy. It was such a nightmare. I have built entire websites on Shopify before and nothing has been as difficult as setting up this app. I am so frustrated. Finally, I've given up and will uninstall the app now. Just beware. My developer was even having trouble. I do not recommend this app. I am off to find another.

The app has so many bugs. Customer support has no idea how to fix issues which generic response. They charge a premium for an app that is not premium. The app has completely stopped working on my website and I have no idea why. They're say they are sorry in response to this review, a generic response rather than fixing important issues.

After several attempts (during 2 months) to give Searchanise the chance to improve on our website they failed. Here are some reasons why: - One big problem is that the most searched items on our shop are not what they really are. Their own statistics in the backend shows totally different top queries then present in the search widget. - Given search results to the vistors are bad although visitors query is in the product title! Try at my website Gartencenter.de: 1 When you type "wurzel" it shows all our indoor plants first for no reason and no products with "wurzel" in the product name on the first page. The product visitors are looking for are the 23rd and 24th result! 2 We have a lot of products which called "bambus". When a customer types like "bamsbus" (typo) Searchanese says "no results", but since the query corresponds for 85% with "bambus" it should at least give the same result as "bambus". Their answer: make synoniems! That's really not how a search engine should work. - Suggestions only support English and Latin Their service is friendly but after 5 of the same email in which they thanks us again for our patience I'm done.

Be careful to subscribe to this app yearly cause their policy is nonrefundable. We recently upgrade to the new theme and have to change a new app base on our needs, however, they refuse to refund my yearly subscription ( I am not requesting a full refund, just a portion). This app will change your collection page, and redirect to its layout, if the page didn't load completely and visitors click the link, still will go to your theme's design, that is the reason we consider to change it. Additionally, If I don't make any mistake here, they said $19 per month is up to 1500 Products but our store only has around 250, but in the dashboard, they ask us to upgrade cause we sold over $50000. Thirdly, if you want to customize the collection or search result, it towards java, not really easy to use. This app does not work for niche stores. Finally, they did some kind of upgrade of the app and kill of all my pre-set button colors, and just send me an email with sorry. Our member has to spend another 2 hours to adjust it back. We using this app for over 1 year and really hate to write a bad review for developers cause everybody is not easy here. However, it is time to speak something.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear that our app didn't quite suit your store. As to your points, our annual subscriptions are indeed non-refundable. Yet, we value you as a customer and will do our best to come up with something in this case. One of our agents has already contacted you regarding this via email, we hope to hear from you. About how our app works, it is true that it creates a new page that is used as a search results page, which uses a layout that is most probably different from the one on search results page that is used by the theme. This is, quite an obvious drawback, however, the design and layout that our app uses can be changed with the help of settings and a bit of custom code. We have articles about this on our help portal: https://docs.searchanise.io/modify-widgets-appearance/, https://docs.searchanise.io/customize-content-search-results-widget/, and some others. JavaScript modifications (and I must mention that Java is not used by our app, it is a very different language) might be required, but they are not, usually. Besides, our support team is always glad to help if you face difficulties with making our app suit your store. Apart from consultation, this includes developing the necessary code too, if possible. The redirect to the default search results page shouldn't occur when our app is active, but if it does, it can be fixed very easily in 99.9% of cases. If you decide to give us another chance, we will do our best to fix it for you. We have also described a solution for this situation in the following article: https://docs.searchanise.io/widget-doesnt-appear-on-page-load-shopify/, it is publicly available. The described solution works pretty much always and doesn't require any coding/special knowledge, and takes minutes to implement, if needed. Regarding the subscription pricing, we don't quite understand what you mean yet, unfortunately. You had an annual subscription that costs $151.2 a year and supports up to 5,000 products. The very same subscription is currently available to you, at least as far as we can see when we check it from our end. Subscription price also doesn't depend on how much you sell, only on how many products (their variants are not counted) there are in the store and what features you need to be available to you. Looks like there was some misunderstanding, we would be more than happy to clarify this part with you. With all that said, it looks like the issues you've described might be fixed rather quickly. VERY BAD SERVICE, Dont use this app, They are not replying to our emails for many days, we asked for some changes to the filters in our store, They Messed up our website, we are asking them to fix the issues and no respond. NEVER NEVER INSTALL THIS APP.

We added this app to our store at the beginning of November, and although this app displays a help chat time of just 7 minutes for example - you regularly have to wait 6 hours to get a response. Extremely frustrating service - when nothing can be answered quickly. Also the app does not allow you to make bulk changes easily - so making changes to a large catalogue is very time consuming. If you have a large store with multiple variants - the 'in stock' filter does not work alongside the 'size' filter - which defeats its purpose surely??

They did something to my store and haven't fixed it yet. Product pics don't come up properly on collection pages and there is still weird lines in between products which I told them to fix but no update. They keep sending automated messages and close the ticket. It's not acceptable.

We used this app for about 1-2 years, its pretty good and full of options. They've changed their pricing about 3 times, doubling ths cost most of the time. Way too costly for what it is, we are done with it. We triied to reach customer support and they have no control on it, cant help.

Regarding the situation with pricing that you are describing, we had started using a new pricing model recently, and prices for some plans indeed have been raised. We kept the pricing the same for over 9 years, but our app has changed quite a lot after all these years, so we had to make changes to the subscription plans eventually. I also must say that we have changed our prices only once, it has never happened before. As far as I understand, you are also referring to the situation when your discount had expired, about which you reached out to us about 5 months ago. In the email with the offer of this discount it was stated that this discount only lasts for 1 year, which it did. The app itself is solid, but they've changed their pricing twice recently which took our site functionality down until we figured out that we had to re-sign up for a new plan. If we'd been notified so we could have been proactive that would have been great, instead we had to find out the expensive way, when your Shopify site was no longer working properly. Moreover, the first time this happened, there was a bug which wouldn't let us accept new pricing. In short, we like the app, but the management of it and the service of it had a very bad impact on our business.

Hello. It appears that there has been some kind of misunderstanding. The pricing changes haven't affected what products our app indexes, i.e., what products are counted towards the catalog size supported by subscription plans. Out of stock products have always been searchable and counted by default. There are several ways to exclude products from indexation, though: 1) Exclude products with specific tags as described here: https://docs.searchanise.io/hide-products-from-search-shopify/; 2) Set products to Draft; 3) Make products unavailable in Online store. A really disappointing experience from start to finish. During a routine speed audit, our web agency discovered that Searchanise was causing our Shopify store to run much slower than it should, so we uninstalled the app and contacted the developer to request a refund of our annual subscription. Several days later, there’s been no reply whatsoever from Searchanise. Poor performance and poor customer service - the worst of all worlds!

We've been with this app for over 2 years and I would rate them 4 out of 5 stars but recently they changed their pricing and cancelled our old plan was $27 and now $59 for the same thing. I guess inflation hitting hard on everything.

Hello, Thank you very much for your feedback. We understand that increase in prices is always not a pleasant event and sorry that we had to put you through it. As to why we had to change the prices, it was necessarily to do as it allows us keep improving the experience of our clients. Our development team puts a lot of effort adding new features and improving the old ones. Some of the big new features are new widget designs and compatibility with year/make/model apps. Currently, we are working on implementing image, voice search, and some other functionality requested by our clients. Please also note that the pricing model that was used before had been adopted in 2013. We understand that keeping the prices steady is important and kept them the same for almost 9 years, but the time for changes has come. Lastly, we would like to address the part about cancelling active subscriptions that you mentioned. To our regret too, it indeed has happened as it was necessary due to technical reasons. We converted your subscription into an equivalent trial one to prevent the subscription from being automatically renewed, while not cutting out the service. We have sent several notifications about this via email, added a banner to the app's admin panel, and also added information about the changes to our official site prior to this. All of this has been done out of necessity and we will do our best to avoid this practice in the future. Hope for your understanding. On 21 Jul the search engine was down and stopped working. There was no notification on the downtime and our web store was not showing the intended search results. Our conversions were affected because customers could not find what they want. Today we realised the search results were not showing a complete listing and we had no idea how long the error has been going on for. Several important SKUs were missing from the search results page although the search query keywords were consistently included in the product titles. Our conversions were affected and we're still waiting for a response as we speak. These episodes of downtime have clearly shown that the app is unreliable. I would not recommend using it as the risks are too high.

The app looked like a great solution to what I needed, but my experience has plagued me with problems. It messed up the arrangement of my collections. This was able to be fixed with forced reindexing. But then I added a new collection that showed not only the products in that collection but every single other product in my store. Again, fixed with reindexing, but why can't it just do this automatically? Now, that same collection contains no products at all. I am running around in circles and paying a small fortune for the privilege.

However, we'd like to point out that there are certain limitations in Shopify API that make it necessary for this action to be done in order for new collections to be displayed properly. However, we took into account your opinion and we are happy to tell you that we added an option to set up the automatic re-indexation in the stores. This way there is no need for you to click it manually each time you modify the store because you can set up the automatic re-indexation by schedule. Searchanise raised the cost after I subscribed so I moved to rapidsearch. I like it better as a product, it has a stronger feature set and is priced quite a bit more competitively. Despite uninstalling the search anise app, unsubscribing from their emails, repeatedly asking them to leave me alone, and filing a support ticket to figure out why none of these steps worked they still send me unsolicited emails. Regret not exploring other alternatives before I gave these folks my email address
